Cambridge Sensotec celebrates 15-year anniversary
July 2015 has marked the 15-year anniversary since Cambridge Sensotec began manufacturing the Rapidox gas analyser range. When founded the company was initially run from the Managing Director, Mark Swetnam’s home. However, growth came quickly which warranted the move into an industrial unit. After gaining ISO 9001 approval in 2009 and moving to a larger premises in 2011 the company has continued to go from strength to strength.
Continual product development has been paramount throughout the company’s establishment. Recent product launches include the Rapidox 5100 and SF6 6100 gas analysers. Fully portable, with touchscreen functionality, these were the first of the Rapidox range to offer multiple gas sensors with a modular configuration, allowing for us to cater for specialised customer requirements.
The introduction of these highly versatile instruments called for essential product training that took place at our premises in June 2013 and allowed us to provide our international distributors with an enhanced knowledge and hands-on involvement.
Since our ten-year anniversary, Cambridge Sensotec have experienced a busy and exciting period, with the advancement of three additional Rapidox gas analysers. Having established our presence within the SF6 gas analysis market, Cambridge Sensotec subsequently worked towards designing and building an analyser that would sample the gas without the release of emissions, in accordance with environmental legislation. This lead to the development of the Rapidox SF6 6100 Pump Back and a redesign of the entire Rapidox SF6 gas analyser range, which was then launched at our very first international trade event, EP China in September.
Partnership with a major solder reflow oven manufacturer required the development of a Rapidox 1100 oxygen analyser that was able to communicate with a proportional flow control (PFC) valve. This allowed our customer to retain greater control of the nitrogen levels within their inert gas blanketing application inside the ovens.
Our Rapidox 7100 Multigas analyser has proven to be a valuable addition to the Rapidox range following its introduction to the market late last year. Based around the modular concept of the Rapidox 5100, the 7100 allows for up to six sensors in the company’s first rack mountable configuration, and is ideal for applications such as; emissions monitoring, manufacturing, and research and development.
Throughout this time, Cambridge Sensotec have been continually growing, with both an expansion of the current premises and purchase of an additional building to support the doubling of our workforce since 2010 to 18 members. Attributing to this has been the acquisition of Dynascan, which has added packaging leak detection products to the company’s product portfolio.
Future developments include the launch of a brand new website, designed to provide enhanced information and resources on products and applications. Additionally we continue to develop our Rapidox range in line with our customer and market requirements, with new and exciting product launches in the pipeline. We are certainly looking forward to a bright and promising future.
