CTEEP chooses the Rapidox SF6 Multimeter
After a chance encounter at a Transformers conference in Rio de Janeiro, Cambridge Sensotecs Brazilian distributor CUB Engenharia e Comercio Ltda has begun collaborating with Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Electrica Paulista (CTEEP) as it begins an ambitious project to review the health of its Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). CTEEP required an instrument that could assess the state of the SF6 gas in its equipment that was reliable, portable, easy to use and suitable for use on location. The representatives from CUB organised a demonstration of the Rapidox SF6 Multimeters capabilities at one of CTEEPs GIS substations, where the Rapidox analyser measured the purity of SF6 gas from new, used and failed devices.
After the demonstration, CTEEP decided that the Rapidox SF6 Multimeter was the superior instrument and commissioned CUB to supply the Multimeter and train its staff. The Rapidox SF6 Multimeter tests SF6 gas by measuring the percentage of Sulphur Hexafluoride, the ppm level of SO2 and the moisture content of the gas. The presence of SO2 or moisture in the SF6 gas can indicate faulty equipment, an air leak or a breakdown in the dielectric strength.
Cambridge Sensotec was formed in 2000 and is an ISO9001 registered company. It exports its Rapidox range of gas analysers globally.
