Cambridge Sensotec Celebrates its 10th Anniversary!
Cambridge Sensotec, the manufacturer of the Rapidox range of gas analysers, is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary! The company certainly has much to celebrate since its foundation in 2000, having grown from modest beginnings to becoming a highly successful, ISO accredited manufacturer and exporter of gas analysers.
Founding Director, Dr Mark Swetnam initially developed and built the Rapidox gas analysers from his spare bedroom at home until demand forced him to move operations to larger premises. Mark was later joined by Donald Kings as Director of Research and Victor Stekly as Chairman. With Cambridge Sensotec gas analysers being sold worldwide, the business grew further and moved again to its current location in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The business has been assisted by a Passport to Export from UK Trade and Investment to help grow overseas trade. This is in addition to a capital equipment grant from Business Link that was able to fund a new bespoke gas analyser calibration service.
Cambridge Sensotec Limited now comprises of 9 dedicated and skilled members of staff. The company manufactures an extensive range of portable and bench mounted gas analysers used in industry, R&D and education. Initially, the company specialised in zirconia oxygen sensors for measuring low ppm oxygen; particularly in vacuum applications. The Rapidox 2000 and 3000 analysers were launched in 2001 and later succeeded by the Rapidox 2100 and 3100 series that are sold today.
The Rapidox 3100 SF6 gas analyser was launched in 2009, benefiting from healthy sales this year to China and South Korea. The zirconia-based Rapidox gas analysers are noted for their speed of response, ease of use and value for money. Cambridge Sensotec can also offer two electrochemical oxygen analysers, the Rapidox 1100E and the 1100L, which come with poison resistant electrochemical cells. A full data-logging software suite is also supplied with every instrument sold, as standard.
To celebrate ten years in business the company has undergone a re-branding exercise and now has a new logo and tag “Advancing Excellence in Gas Analysis”. This brand new website was launched in November 2010 and now contains a full on-line shopping cart service.
